Shiptheory is a shipping management platform that connects online retailers to carriers, automatically books shipments, prints labels, and returns tracking numbers, all within a matter of seconds.

How to use what3words in Shiptheory

  1. Add a what3words address field to your checkout page or CRM.

To pass a what3words address to Shiptheory, you will need to collect what3words addresses from your customers by adding a what3words address field to your checkout page or CRM. To do so, you can use one of our existing plugins or the what3words API. You can take a look at these options and find out more here

  2. Get in touch with Shiptheory’s onboarding head, Josh Hodder. Shiptheory and what3words are already automatically set up with a number of channels and Carriers, detailed below. However, Shiptheory is always open to adding compatibility to more of their integrations. So, get in touch, and let them know if you’d like to get set up, here

Shiptheory automatically pulls what3words via a custom data field from the eCommerce platform. Shiptheory then automatically pushes this data field with the what3words address to any compatible carriers, via the Delivery Instructions.

Once you are set up to accept what3words addresses on checkout, any what3words address included on an order can be seen in the shipment popup from the dashboard after being pulled into Shiptheory (see image below).
