Syrinx, a Point of Rental Software, can now integrate with what3words to help you get to exactly where you need to be. This integration is included with any one of the Syrinx mobile apps so as long as you have a licence and are on version 4.40.6 or above, you will have access to this. You will need an API key from what3words to be able to convert from the three words to coordinates and from coordinate to three words. Without the API key, you will only be able to store the three words.

what3words Integration Setup Guide

Step 1

Check that you are on Syrinx version 4.40.6 or later. You can do this by logging in and selecting the blue circle icon with an ‘I’ in the top left corner. If you are on an older version then you will need to upgrade which you can do yourself or alternatively, you can contact Point of Rental.

Step 2

1. Login or signup for a what3words developer account.
2. Select Create an API Key.
3. Specify the name of your business and the name of the software you use e.g. Syrinx ERP.
4. Select Generate API Key.

Step 3

Copy the API key from what3words and paste it into the Syrinx Configuration Program >> System Options tab >> General >> Misc (2) >> “what3words API Key:” field.

Step 4

You’re ready to go. When you go and load a Customer Site, then you should now see a new field for What3Words along with the button to the right which will convert both from coordinates to the 3 words or from 3 words to coordinates.

Once you have enabled the what3words integration, use the imagery and copy on our Communications Hub to announce the partnership and educate your customers on the benefits of using what3words.
