The hire industry is increasingly relying on what3words for sites with no postcodes or addresses, to allow their suppliers to find the location easily, to reference it on their documents and more.

inspHire has now integrated what3words as part of their standard offering, with inspHire Office Edition. This allows users to easily and accurately look up and enter the what3words address of e.g. site entrances. Follow the steps below to get set up and learn how to use what3words with inspHire.

How to set up what3words in inspHire

Step 1

Sign up for a what3words API key

1. Login or signup for a what3words developer account.
2. Select Create an API Key.
3. Specify the name of your business and “inspHire” in the Application Name.
4. Select Generate API Key.

N.B. If you already have a what3words account, simply create an additional API Key with the Application Name “inspHire”

Step 2

Once you get your API key, go to system parameters in inspHire, click the “Linking 2” tab, then the “URLs” tab. Enter the what3words API key in the “what3words API Key” field (see image right). Click accept.

How to use what3words in inspHire

Step 1

Whether you’re in a hire contract, sales order, purchase order or workshop job, you can simply click the what3words icon to add a new delivery address for that customer.

You can also do this by clicking the icon shown above, which is next to any delivery address you see.

Step 2

The Delivery Address window will then open. Below the Post Code field, there is a what3words field. Simply type the what3words address here. Once you start typing the third word of the three word address, AutoSuggest will kick in to help with error detection in case of typos. Select your what3words address from the suggestions.

Step 3

The what3words address will then be stored against the Delivery Address for future use.

The latitude and longitude associated with the what3words address will also be provided.

Alternatively, if you have the co-ordinates for a location, you can click the red what3words logo to return the what3words address.

🗣️ Announce the Integration

Once you have enabled the what3words integration, use the imagery and copy on our Communications Hub to announce the partnership and educate your customers on the benefits of using what3words.
